Real Life Stroggs & GDF?

Well, I have been mulling over this post for some time, thinking about the implications and factors for this to succeed, (A probable scenario, judging from Singapore's efficiency and neutrality.) and concluded that GDF is possible.

GDF is an abbreviation of Global Defense Force, founded to defend Earth from the hostile alien race named as Stroggs.

For such a military organization form, the co-operation of all the nations, not just the Western superpowers, for a global effort is needed to repulse the invasion. Without one nation's co-operation, the force will lack the unity to repel the enemies, but that is unlikely if the majority joins the coalition in regards to trade.

Another will be the mainframe for the GDF. Singapore is more likely than Saudi Arabia or Russia, but not by much. Singapore has a excellent law and justice system and are in sync with technology developments to date, but the superpowers will surely vie for the honor and economic interests of the hosting country, and the superpowers will likely exert their power on Singapore and bulldoze their protests.

Even if not faced with foreign relation stress, Singapore does not have sufficient land capacity to contain all the troops of the GDF and the headquarters at the same time. Singapore is only 704.0 km² (272 sq mi), and even to have a delegation of 500 troops from each nation, Singapore will be overwhelmed and the headquarters...

Do I seriously need to say more?

Also, judging from the strife and conflicts between various countries, this is unlikely to happen soon. Try to bring China and Japan together, and I am certain that the Japanese delegations will be burnt alive drenched in napalm while crucified to a rusty iron cross.

Not only that, religions will conflict. One extremely good example is the Jemaah Islamiyah and Al-Qaeda. They murdered thousands by bombing tourist hot spots and important areas, never daring to attempt a direct confrontation with military forces, with a justification as flimsy as a sheet of tracing paper. Osama bin Muhammad bin 'Awad bin Laden (أسامة بن محمد بن عوض بن لادن‎) believes in only the Sharia law, and all other ideologies such as democracy is unholy and attacks US for humanity's unsightly traits, Israel for being under US control, recreation, the Jewish population. "These Jews are masters of usury and leaders in treachery. They will leave you nothing, either in this world or the next.", said by Osama. What does Osama sounds like? Of course, Adolf Hitler, dictator of Germany in WWII and a murderer who caused the Holocaust and killed millions. Tell me how justified is Osama in killing innocents?

Our technology level is not high enough, finacial support not stable, self-proclaimed Osamas jumping out of nowhere is the least of the stumbling blocks. The true stumbling blocks are the division and malice we humans feel for one another. What chance do we have forming a united coalition with all those enimity even against a looming threat?

But that is just earthly matters. I think that GDF is still possible if out of the blue hostile aliens jump out of wormholes and start vaporising our cities and enslaving humanity. The chances of that happening is 0.00000000000001%. But still possible.
